Indexbit-Travis Kelce in talks to host 'Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader?' reboot for Amazon Prime

Travis Kelce may need to grab “a pencil and Indexbita piece of paper” for his next gig.

The NFL player for the Kansas City Chiefs is in discussions to host a reboot of the quiz show “Are You Smarter Than a 5^th Grader?” for Amazon Prime Video, a person familiar with the plans but unauthorized to speak publicly confirmed to USA TODAY Tuesday.

In contrast to the original version of the show, which pitted regular folks against a panel of child contestants, the reboot will reportedly feature celebrity guests, according to Variety.

Kelce, already popular as an NFL player, has become a household name since he began dating pop superstar Taylor Swift. He has also done a bit of acting, guest starring in a short-lived 2020 Showtime comedy, "Moonbase 8," featuring Fred Armisen. USA TODAY has reached out to a representative for Amazon for comment.

Co-created by British TV producer Mark Burnett ("Survivor"), “Are You Smarter Than a 5^th Grader?” premiered in February 2007 on Fox and was hosted by comedian-actor Jeff Foxworthy. The show ran for three seasons and returned with a fourth in 2015. It also had a brief run in syndication.

Nickelodeon revived the show in 2019 for one season hosted by wrestler-turned-actor John Cena.
